In the Presence of the Lord

Psalm 27 teaches that confidence in God is not found by focusing on our circumstances but by pursuing His presence. In this sermon, we follow David's example as he faces enemies, uncertainty, and hardship while fixing his eyes on the Lord. Rather than allowing fear to shape his thinking, David declares that God is his light, his salvation, and his strength. His greatest desire is not simply for relief from trouble, but to dwell in the presence of the Lord.
This sermon examines four results of living in God's presence: it produces boldness, becomes our greatest desire, is cultivated through prayer, and gives us strength to endure every trial. Ultimately, Psalm 27 points us to Christ, who has opened the way into God's presence through His finished work on the cross. As we learn to seek the Lord first and wait on Him, we find the courage, peace, and endurance needed to live faithfully in a fallen world.
