Luke 15:11-24
We had a fantastic Easter at Destiny Church this year! Easter is the day we throw up our hands in victory as our great God and Savior Jesus Christ has passed from death to life! This is the day that marks the decisive victory in the battle of light vs darkness as Jesus Christ has crushed the head of Satan. We too have passed from death to life and are victorious in Christ! Jesus Must Increase, I Must Decrease

Jesus Must Increase, I Must Decrease

John 3:22-36
In this passage, we're going to see another example of John the Baptist's humility as he utters his famous statement, "He must increase, but I must decrease!" As followers of Jesus, we too take this posture of humility and worship. Jesus must come first in our lives. Jesus is above all. As we submit to His authority in every aspect of life, we are offering up ourselves to Him in worship.

John 3:16-21

In this passage, we're going to see that God loves the world, and people love darkness. If it was up to us, we would be lost in a lifestyle of sin and confusion. Jesus came to this world to rescue us. He was the Light that we needed. As believers, we get to play a part in revealing Jesus, the Light of the world, to those around us.

Jesus Must Be Lifted Up

John 3:1-15

In this passage, we’re going to see a man named Nicodemus approach Jesus by night. Nicodemus was one of the religious leaders and knew a lot about God.

In John’s Gospel, we see that it doesn’t matter how smart or religious we are, we must be born again. Essentially, we have to start over. Through this process, we become new creations in Christ, and we are able to see and understand the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Performs His 1st Miracle

Have you ever been lost? When you're lost, you look for a sign. In John 2, Jesus gives us two signs. The first, Jesus turning water into wine, shows Gods has the power over the physical world. The second, Jesus cleansing the Temple, shows God has the authority to set things in order in His house.

Jesus Calls His Disciples

Jesus Calls His Disciples

John 1:35-51
In this passage we see Jesus' first interactions with His disciples. After spending a few moments with Jesus, they immediately are convinced He is the Christ and start evangelizing their friends.

Jesus, The Lamb of God

Jesus, The Lamb of God

John 1:19-34

In this passage, we see John the Baptist enter the scene. John creates quite a stir! This wild man who ate locust and honey, announces the coming of the Lamb of God. John the Baptist made his message about Jesus, not him. He didn't care what people thought about him. He was humble, yet bold. Strange yet affective. Abrasive yet anointed.

John announced the One who would take away the sin of the world. Jesus, the Lamb of God, didn't just atone for sin, He took it away. In our witness, we must not lose the true message. The benefits of the message are great, but they are not the message itself. We put Jesus on the cross. We need the Lamb of God to take away our sin.

Jesus, The Eternal Word Became Flesh

John 1:1-18

Jesus came to this world as God in the flesh. We serve an eternal God that is so much bigger than we could possibly imagine. If you want to know God, know Jesus. Jesus IS God. Don't look to anything else to save you. We have the light and truth of Jesus. The eternal light of Jesus never runs out. Put your faith and hope in Him today.

John, Jesus' Best Friend

John The Beloved
Pastor Matt Bell

A best friend sees you at your worst and still loves you. This kind of friend doesn't seek their own good, but yours. Jesus had a friend like that. John the Beloved, who wrote the Gospel of John, was that friend. Many of Jesus' friends betrayed him and doubted him. John was the only one who never left his side - even at the cross.
