Jodi Lynn Bell, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born December 16, 1958 in San Antonio to John and Josie Newman.

Jodi dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age, and served Him faithfully her entire life. The oldest of four daughters, she always set a Godly example for her sisters to follow. Her parents said she was the perfect daughter.

On August 17, 1979 she married Dave Bell, the love of her life. For the next 32 years, she and Dave were constant companions. Together they built a family, ministry, and church that continues to touch countless lives.

She graduated from UTSA with a BA in education. Jodi loved to teach others. Her favorite classroom was in her own home, as she taught her sons the word of God.

After Jodi’s husband David died in 2012, she continued to devote her life to her family and church. She excelled as the new leader of the family, showcasing her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She poured love into her eleven grandchildren, loving each of them uniquely and perfectly. They were the joy of her life.

Jodi became an integral part of the ministry staff of Destiny Church, working tirelessly to expand the Kingdom of God. Through her role as missions secretary, she daily poured her life into the advancement of the Gospel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Bell and brother-in-law, Nathan Bell. Jodi is survived by her sons, Matthew J. Bell and his wife, Heather, Michael D. Bell and his wife, Jennifer, Mark A. Bell and his wife, Cari, Micah J. Bell and his wife, Zoe and Mitchell L. Bell; grandchildren, Heidi, Hunter, Faith, Judah, Ruthie, Hayden, Asher, Elsie, June, Charity, Twila and two on the way; her parents, John Newman and Josie Haile; her sisters, Jeri Tolbert, Juli Dickson, Joy Magatagan; numerous other family members.
